VP160 ordered. I had to order the standard version on-line, then JC said he would change the order to be an in-cabinet version instead. Thanks JC.
Note: Black grill cover, if the order doesn't state what color. I didn't see it on any of my receipts.

E-mail received. I didn't think I got it, but I re-read it and it says in-cabinet. Thanks.

Yesterday and today's project, cleaning and sealing behind the bottom row of ceramic tiles around the bathtub. I had removed the old caulk between wall and tub a couple of months ago, but never got around to resealing it.
This got me to worrying about mold buildup behind that bottom row of tiles, so I pulled that row of tiles out last night and cleaned up that area. There was some blackness that had started in that area, so I'm glad I did that. To kill any mold, I sprayed the area first with Hydrogen Peroxide, then later with vinegar. (Articles I read suggested not to use bleach because it won't attach porus areas.)
Home construction so old that they didn't use concrete backer board like today, but was just drywall that was also deteriating somewhat, but not enought to have to replace it. I just scraped off the lose material.
Then to seal up the tub to the wall, I used a tube of plasic roof cement that looks and smells like asphalt. Later today I'll go buy some tile cement and glue the pieces back on. A few broke. There's an old box of them I found in the house that I can cut (somehow) and use them instead. Then re-grout and caulk.

Now here's a project I'm starting that's part of my "convert bedroom into an office" project. First, I hired an exterminator to spray my attic for silverfish 2 weeks ago today. Today, I'm going to (get started) bag up all of this old insulation that's somewhere in the neighbor hood of 30 to 50 years old. (Definitely using respiratory protection). It doesn't cover the whole house, just the bedroom areas. Here's a picture looking to the Left. Here's a picture looking to the Right.

Then once that's cleaned up. I'm going to make 4 holes for can lights in the bedroom (looking to the left). Install can lights. Then get exterminator back out to spray again. Then install Owen's Corning fiberglass batch insulation between rafters.
This way I have a clean installation without any bugs and with new insulation.

That reminds me of when my folks bought an old farm house. The insulation was a little older. It was sawdust! I imagine you will have a much better insulated attic once you're done.

Whew. I made a small dent, but only did 1 1/2 hours of real work. The rest was just getting setup. The temperature has been moderate here today at about 65 degrees F. This is one time I'll be glad to see it drop because it gets hot working up there.
I thought the big black trash bags were going to be too big to fit in the hole to take them out, but they did fit ok. The hole is only about 2 foot by 2 foot. I load up my trunk with the bags, then unload them at my work's big industrial sized dumpster.
I found some newspaper mixed in with the old insulation. It's dated 1963. So that tells me the insulation is about 39 years old. (Correction: 49 years old)
I found a child's sized plastic snow shovel with extendable handle that's perfect sized for this job. It's about 10 inches wide by about 15 inches long, and about 3 inches deep.
