It looks like the Best Buy Magnolia stores have the Panasonic Plasma TC-P50VT30's for $1500.

Weird. TC-P50VT30 was on the Best Buy site this morning. Now it's gone.

It's kind of like my local grocery store. As soon as I find something I really like and start buying it often, they stop selling it.

It looks like the VT 50 inch is only available in Europe. It's 55 inches here. Won't fit my wall. 50 inch is the absolute max that will fit. I guess I'm back down to the cheaper GT version. Does anyone have experience with the GT version of Panasonic Plasmas?

Dang! I just got back from Best Buy store. Now the TV I've been researching, the Panasonic 50 inch TC-P50GT30 has just been discontinued and is not being sold by Best Buy anymore. That model has been replace with the TC-P55GT31 model. Number 31 instead of 30, and a 55 inch instead of a 50 inch. Panasonic discontinued the 50 inch plasma. Only a 50 inch will fit in this spot. The woman at the BB store mentioned that it seems a lot of brands are going from a 46/47 inch to a 55 inch, skipping that size.

This is the story of my life. As soon as there's something I want, it goes away.

It's Brian's own thread, so it's kinda like a mid-renaissance dutchy, or The Vatican.

However, like The Vatican, everyone is free to (and does!) throw their trash around St. Peter's Square.

Always call the place you live a house. When you're old, everyone else will call it a home.

Yeah, I kind of ramble on about only stuff I'm interested in, I'm afraid. At least it gives me something to do.

I've looked there a lot. My problem is I wanted last years best rated TV at an affordable price. By bad.

Also, I figure that by the time it's being replaced by next years model, they've worked most of the worst bugs out of it by then.

There's a lot of things I like about the Panasonic TC-P50VT and TC-P50GT models. One of which is an all glass screen that has some anti-glare stuff built into it. I don't want another LCD because of the off-angle-viewing problems. I don't want an edge-lit LED and the other LED's are still too expensive. I checked the next Panasonic model down, but it has a bigger bezel and won't fit my spot.

Oh, and it has to be 3D. Might as well get one of those too.
