I'll tell ya, Charles, if one of 'em was the "guyamin," I'd sure as hell wanna know what (and where) the other one was.

Always call the place you live a house. When you're old, everyone else will call it a home.

I think the other one was an actual mineral, but I can't remember which one.

One of my coworkers invited me to the midnight showing of The Phantom Menace in 3D last night. While I don't like any of the prequels at this point, it had been a while since I'd seen any of them, and I like hanging out with him, so I said okay. Staying awake shouldn't have been a problem since I'm usually up until after 2 am, but man, my eyes were wanting to close almost the whole time.

The 3D was actually pretty decently done, even though it still doesn't add real value for me. The extra strain on my eyes isn't worth the fake-looking extra dimension.

There's not a lot to say anymore that hasn't already been said. Star Wars just doesn't have the same magic anymore. Lucas had way too much time to work on the storyline for the prequels for them to turn out that half-baked. I really hope Lucas lets the rights go to someone else at some point, someone that can revitalize it. There's still a lot of great stuff about the universe that can be explored. Here's hoping.

I just finished the first season. It got pretty good by the end. The characters were done well. There's still a lot up in the air, so I'll have to watch the second season at some point.

Amazon delivered my new copy of Adele Live At The Royal Albert Hall on Friday, and I watched it last night.

I don't have either of her CD's, but thought that I'd give the concert a try. Good choice.

Good if not always great video. Nothing wrong with the video, really, just some style/editing decisions. It's mostly crystal clear, but there are a few grainy bits.

Great audio. I just need to decipher her dialect a bit more. wink And ignore the bits of British potty-mouth here and there, where she's just being herself, as though she were hanging out with some friends in a pub.

And there's no denying the talent. She can really belt it out. Nice that the package includes a CD (which sounds great, BTW - listened to it this morning) without the possibly objectionable language so that the music can be shared with all of the family.

Krunch, I bought that B-D the other day, though I haven't watched it yet. The fact that the CD was $14 but I could get a B-D that also included the CD for $19 made it a no-brainer.

I love Adele's 21. It might be the audio equivelant of a chick-flick, but I don't care. She's talented but, to me, more importantly, she sings with emotion. Her music is considered Pop in that it's popular, but I honestly think of it as almost anti-pop in the lack of drum machines and auto-tuning.

Take away my man point, but I was going to watch that B-D tonight before she (hopefully) wins some Grammys. I'd much rather see her win than a talentless one-pop wonder.

I'm right there with ya Mark. This was a major discussion point with the family earlier today, about supporting people with genuine talent and abilities.

Her cover of Bonnie Raitt is virtually dripping with emotion. I'm mean, just the fact that this young lady is covering Bonnie Raitt was enough for me.

Only if they use this Craig Ferguson introduction as the opening theme sequence.

Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica.

The Walking Dead from last night. It was an okay episode, but this season just hasn't kept me interested like the first season. One of the main characters has reached a turning point, though, so I really hope that breathes more life into the story.

Once Upon a Time

One of my friends wanted me to watch this one. She really loves it. I watched the pilot. The production values are pretty decent, and I like the main actress's face. The writing is pretty ho-hum so far, though, and the directing doesn't do anything to make up for it. It doesn't do much to compel me to watch any more, but I probably will at some point just to give it a fair shake since my friend wanted me to.
