Dan,
I am a TRON fan from way back too. I have not seen the movie in years and it was very entertaining to me last night even if my wife kept poking fun. I was especially impressed with the Desk screen where our antagonist was typing on the screen and not a keyboard. There were also multiple windows showing at one point. Way ahead of its time......Rob

I saw that whale movie "Big Miracle", the one with Drew BoreMeMore the other day...kind of seemed like an extended, after school movie or a made-for-tv Disney movie. Not terrible, entertaining to a point but nothing special either.

Also watched "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest" recently. Lots of holes and lack of continuity in this one, too many characters many of which had little or nothing to do with the story.

We watched Lion King 3D last night and king fu panda 2 3D tonight. First movies we have watched in 3D on the new TV. Pretty impressive actually, and not as Gimmicky as I thought it would be. I think I can get into this 3D thing on occassion.

I re-watched Kissing a Fool and Dodgeball last night when my friend from Spokane visited. It had been a while since I'd seen either. They both still make me laugh. Mili Avital from Kissing a Fool has a great face, so I should look up more stuff she's been in. I think the only other thing I saw her in was Stargate, which I really didn't like.

Via Netflix streaming, I watched "Elvis Costello: Spectacle - Diana Krall (with special guest host Sir Elton John)". I didn't know I could like Diana Krall MORE, but what an incredible singer and pianist. She is just amazing. And don't get me started on bassist Christian McBride. Recommended.

Tom, I'm sensing early signs of a Charles-like Diana Krall obsession.

Picked up the BR copy of Real Steel last night (found it for cheap finally - $12). I sampled a few scenes today just for fun until I can sit down and watch the whole thing again with the family. Wow, who knew robot fighting could sound so real? Great bass, great clarity, serious thunk of metal on metal and immersive surround field. The DTS-HD 7.1 mix is a winner.

Just an FYI if you're looking to find some new demo material for your system.
Cheers,

Dan

I don't recommend "Another Earth". Boring. Was expecting a good Sci-Fi movie. Instead I got a slow draggy drama with a poor ending.

I watched Real Steel a couple of nights ago as well. I got it pretty much for the touted audio effects but once again I was surprised by a 'fighting movie' that actually had a good story line. Not as good as Warrior but very watchable.
