Thanks for the heads up on Another Earth, Brian. I'm a sucker for anything sci-fi but it can be tough to get a good one.

Showed the kids their first full length movie tonight--Toy Story.
Very, very unfortunately, our disc was damaged and we had to dig up the last 5 minutes on YouTube, quickly. Yeesh.

So how long until E1 is blowing up toys in the back yard? Don't know about E1, but D3 might.

Cool story, Ken.
Over the weekend, showed my 6 year old his first Star Trek movie. Went with IV, figuring it'd not be too violent/scary - KHAAAN! will have to come later. Also, I didn't want to subject him to the boredom of, say, I or V. I also hoped he'd find the whales interesting.
Fail. Overall, he found it boring - he's too used to the faster pacing of the PIXAR and Dreamworks animated films. Also, I remembered that the movie had a few "colorful metaphors", but I didn't remember how many.
He did laugh when the harpoon hit the Klingon ship. And, he's curious to see a Next Generation movie, since he has a Geordi La Forge action figure. Hmm.
Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica.

Hmm indeed. First Contact is definitely too violent/scary, but I don't think Generations is tooooo bad.
Still, better to warm him up on the series first.

Yeah, I can get out my old VHS tapes from when I taped it off TV back when it ran. Should be a hoot to see the old car commercials.
