We all love to tell how we just watched something great. Time to turn it around for a change and save you some wasted time.
"Son of No one." In summary, don't bother.
A plot with potential but in perhaps the biggest writing/directing flaw for a drama I have ever seen, you figure out the 'secret' advisary in the first quarter of the movie. Channing Tatum is completely unbeleivable as a cop, even a damaged one. Even his mustache somehow stands out as misplaced. Katie Holmes brings absolutely nothing to her role but then again, a life with Tom Cruise can do that to you. I can't complain about Ray Liotta in his role except that his character is so steriotypical Ray Liotta that you tend to see Ray instead of the character he potrays. I don't have the heart to complain about Al Pacino. He was good but he doens't get to shine in this role as his character is pretty melodramatic with a lean to the melo side. That's the character, so he did it pretty well, but like I say, he needs more depth to shine.
To end on a posative, Jake Cherry, the kid who plays the young version of the main character, was actually quiet good. For a change, I actually found myself thinking "Yay, another flashback!" In fact, all the kids in this movie far outshone thier adult counterparts. I just hope they weren't taking notes from 'the pros'.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

Going to watch "Water for Elephants" with a friend for about the 4th time tonight. I think it's a good movie that's able to support multiple viewings.
Watched "The Thing from another world" last night. This is the original 1951 version of this film in black and white, that was later remade into "The Thing" in 1982 and 2011. I remember watching this and being scared a bit because it was spooky. Well, last night, it was just silly and a little funny, not spooky or scary at all. Strange what time can do to a movie.

Just finished Inception. Thanks for the reminder Chris.
I saw season 1 of Game of Thrones when I was picking up Inception today. Hmm... books first or series first?

On Palladia this weekend - Joe Bonnamassa live at the Beacon. Includes an appearance by John Hiatt. Goosebumps. Highly recommended.

I've got Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Californication, Mythbusters, and The Killing, but only 1.75 hours to bedtime. Which to watch?
I think I'm going with Mad Men, and Californication. Will pick the rest up tomorrow.

I've been watching first episodes of shows that Amazon.com was offering for free. Happy Endings has potential, but a lot of that is because I love Casey Wilson so much. Bent seems like it could be okay, too, but again, part of it is because it was nice to see J.B. Smoove and Jeffrey Tambor and Jesse Plemons.

I watched Tower Heist. It's an ok movie. Mathew Broderick, Alan Alda and Eddie Murphy all look old.
