I saw The Adventures of Tintin on the flight from LAX to IAD tonight and thought it was good, though the screen was tiny and the sound sucked. smile

Someone brought over a bunch of episodes of BBC's "Mrs. Brown's Boys" over the weekend. Previously, I only saw clips on Youtube and thought "meh." However, after watching three full episodes, my lungs are sore from laughing so hard.

Wainy Days. I know I started watching it before, probably with my friends in Chicago. It's pretty funny, and it has a lot of guest appearances. It's also really horrible, as you'd expect from David Wain.

I've re-watched "Another Earth" twice since I made this comment, and I liked the movie for "what it was". On the first watching, I was expecting a Sci-Fi movie, which this wasn't. There's nothing like being disappointed in the type of movie your watching at the time and this skewed my enjoyment of it. But, just throwing away all expectations and watching it for what it is, is an entirely different experience.

Watched Rango the other night. Wasn't really expecting to like it much, but it was quite entertaining and had it's funny moments.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy:

a little hard to understand, harkens back to movies from the 70s. I liked it.

Contagion:

this movie got terrible reviews on Netflix by members. They said it was pointless and boring with bad acting. I really enjoyed it. I have always liked soderbergh's movies. This movie is slow but I never get bored and I just thought this movie was really interesting.

Rango: I liked Rango mostly. Animation was very good and it was very funny a couple of times. My only issue with the movie is the religion bashing. I am not religious but I don't like these kind of messages aimed at children which might be against the parents wishes. Happy Feet did the same thing.

Tonight I'm watching a continuous series of 'Titanic' documentaries that I recorded on my PVR over the past week.

As I'm watching, it is roughly the same time 100 years ago in 1912 that the Titanic, its passengers & crew were foundering in the cruel North Atlantic.

An amazing story that still resonates with people the world over a century later...

I watched Titanic 3D last night at the cini. I have this movie on DVD, but plan on purchasing it on blu-ray 3D when I can. The 3D effect adds quite a bit to this presentation.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

I actually liked it more this second time around, and of course the audio experience at home is more impressive than the local theaters. I sure can't wait to have the LFR1100s and a better room, though.

Also watching the first two episodes of the new season of Eagleheart. Bought the season pass on iTunes. I'd rather have them on Amazon Instant Video, but they're not available there. Funny as hell.

I'm pretty surprised, but my dad has been watching Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Two excellent shows, but I thought he would be way too uptight for the more questionable content. My sister always thought he would get a kick out of parts of The Wire, but we never recommended it because of some of the sexuality and violence. Maybe we were wrong and he'd actually make it through it.
