I bought the Sports Night complete collection a long while ago. Now that we're in the summer lull for all my regular series, I figured I'd check it out. The only sports I watch are auto racing, which isn't covered on the show, but really the baseball, basketball, and football stuff that is mentioned, is only in passing. Sports Night isn't about sports, it's about the people who host and run a sports show, and the great writing of Aaron Sorkin.

I never gave it that fair of a shake back when it was airing. For some reason the tone of what I saw didn't do much for me, but I should give it another try sometime.
In the meantime, I've really been wanting to marathon watch all of the seasons of Breaking Bad. I've still only watched them each once, and I think I'd get a lot out of a second viewing.

I absolutely love this series. Probably one of the most clever shows I've ever seen.

Wet Hot American Summer
I don't know why, but I've owned a copy of this for a while, but I never got around to watching it until now. What an odd coincidence, though. Both this and Summer Wars involve spacecraft falling from the sky, and people trying to alter the trajectories rather than evacuate.

What a horrible thing to do to a dead man.

Yes it was, thanks for the flash back Chris, to a time where caring, and a sense of strong family values were prevalent for the times.

Gary, I was mesmerized by the second clip. I had never heard about it. What an incredible human being.

Anyone else see Prometheus yet? I went with mild expectations of just getting a 2 hour diversion from life and a bit more optimism in hoping that it would follow Ridley Scott's old direction style.
I was not disappointed in the above, plus I was actually thinking that this was a good return to old fashioned science fiction writing. Yes it was spooky in parts and had enough gore to satisfy the modern audience but the whole creationism vs. Darwinism vs. engineered by aliens theme had me feeling like I was reading a good old fashioned, sci-fi novel.
Only the mildest of spoilers below. Probably not worth hiding but Ill' mention it.
I also was impressed that despite being billed as a 'sort of' prequel to the Ridley Scott's 'Alien' movies, that it didn't feel at all like a prequel. It stands completely on it's own. However, as the movie progresses, you do start to see very recognizable, visual references to 'Alien #1' and the end leaves you with an interesting and rather ominous speculation as to the reason behind the origin of the 'Alien' aliens and why they were such perfect killing machines.
This movie won't be in my top ten but I definitely recommend that you see it if you liked the ominous film style of Alien and the added bonus of a storyline that goes a lot deeper than just man vs. beast. Or if you just want scary, my wife was pretty scared by several scenes and she is a horror movie addict. I don't personally classify this as a horror film but it has it's moments.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.
