Brian, the TV optical output has to be connected to the TV optical input on the receiver, not Monitor, if you really meant that.

It looks like I wrongly called it Monitor. Looking at a picture of the back side, it's Called Optical with 2 connectors. 1(TV), and 2(DVR). I have it plugged into 1(TV) optical.

What is the difference between an ISF calibrator, and what you got with the THX calibration?

The person who calibrated my TV is qualified in both ISF and THX, but he prefers the THX method because it's simplier with similar results.

Check out this thread. It attempts to answer the same question.

I'm thinking about getting this IR extender, so I'm not limited to only the Harmony 1100 remote, or other RF remotes. I can use the original remotes, or some other all in one remote that I've yet to find.

My Receiver and Blu-ray player are on the other side of the wall, in a closet.

There are some cheaper ones out there, but about this one I like 1) the positive reviews, and 2) the very small receiver.

I love Target stores. They are always mis-marking something. They had Tron Legacy 3D in a slot that said Tron 3D and marked with a price of $22.99. It rang up at $34.99. After fussing with the person in charge for a few seconds, she just let me have it for $22.99.

It's a fun place to shop.

Some if not most states, have a state law that protects the consumer in this matter. If it's label pricing on a particular product is less than what the retailer is actually wanting for it. They are required by law to sell it at that price.

Well, Best Buy just screwed up my bank account. They removed the $599.99 for extended warranty twice. Now, I'm set up for 2 overdrafts and a negative balance in my account.

I've got to go there in person during my lunch break to try and straighten this up.

Finally got the BB fiasco straightened out. I hope. They added the amount back to my account (but not an immediate thing), and I got the bank watching out for overdrafts, so I won't be charged with any over this problem.

Bank account problem is finally straightened out with a positive balance, because of BB's double deduction for TV Warranty. Not that everyone was waiting with baited breath for this to happen.

I also finally got both windows in the living room covered with the same red and brown curtains. I've covered the skylight and window on the front door. When curtains are shut, it seems almost like it's night outside. Except for the light coming down the hallway and from the kitchen area. It's plenty dark, though. Some light also comes from the top of the curtains.

I've been thinking about adding a battery backup unit (UPS) to my HT setup. I get a few power drops and blackouts a year. This is more about battery backup, line conditioning, and surge suppression. Not about whole house surge protection only.

Here's what I currently have:

Panasonic 65 inch VT50 plasma TV.
Denon avr3312ci receiver.
OPPO BPD-93.
Monster 1800 surge suppressor/power conditioner.

Should I get the biggest UPS I can find like this one, or would a smaller one do? I'd rather have the bigger one, if I can get a lot more up time with it. Don't want the smaller one if all it allows me to do is immediately hit the power off button on my remote.

It would probably be best to retire the Monster unit, if I got one of these.

Or, is there a better unit, or method, I'm not familiar with?
