Last weekend I snagged 'Super 8' Blu Ray at Future Shop for 5 bucks on their DVD trade-in deal.

Watched it tonight with my daughter who hadn't seen it before. Even at -10 Db, my couch & the house shook convincingly even though I have just a modest system. I think that my QS4s got as much of a workout as my M22s & twin Velo subs.

Great movie the second time around for me & well worth $5...

Yup, my daughter exclaimed - 'Dad, that was a helluva train derailment', ha!

Actually, there were many more very impressive LFE passages throughout the movie as well...

I think I'll go home and watch one of my anime's made by/with Hayao Miyazaki. So far, I've collected the following:

The Secret World of Arrietty.
Ponyo.
Castle in the Sky.
The Cat Returns.
Spirited Away.
Kiki's Delivery Service.
My Neighbor Totoro
Howle's Moving Castle.

With these on order for next week.
Whisper of the Heart.
Princess Mononoke.

Just got it in from NetFlix and the train wreck was all that - my daughter had her hands over her ears.
Pretty good movie all in all.

I finally watched my copy of this one. My friend was visiting, and he likes Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli movies, so he chose this one to watch out of the pile I had out. Very cool movie. The animation is always thoughtfully done, and I liked the delicately beautiful audio to go with it. My friend, who had said before that he couldn't really tell the difference between TV speakers and my sound system back in the day, kept commenting on how real it all sounded.

I've also started watching Archer, which is pretty funny.

I'll keep saying it. Breaking Bad has such phenomenally good audio. Also, I'm way more scared of tarantulas than the kid at the beginning of the most recent episode.

I probably won't get to watching it for a year, but I skipped around and took a few nibbles of the newly restored BD of Jaws that was released today.

Picture quality is very, very good.

Edit: I previously referenced a video on the restoration for those interested. I liked the third, 8+ minute video.

Been watching season 6 (earliest season available on Amazon Prime) of Top Gear and am absolutely loving it. Very entertaining show.
