I decided to take a loan out from my 401k so that I can get a matching love seat and corner piece at the sale price. Also have money left over for a large area rug. Want an oriental one. It needs to be an odd size, though. Preferably 13 x 7, but could also be 12 x 7,

Picked out a rug. It's 8 x 11 foot. No need for odd size because I've discovered the leveler that was applied to the hardwood floor in front of tv will come up with a little work using a scraper. Scuffed up floor looks a whole lot better than leveler, which looks like plaster.

Rug is a typical oriental look with smallish detail that has a lot of red in it. Hoping it doesn't clash with the red walls. Can return or exchange it.

Probably be a magnet for cat urp in the middle of the night. Cats never throw up on an easy to clean surface. They always gyrate to the hardest spot to clean up.

Maybe treat with Scotch Guard.

I finally got all of the leveler scraped off of the floor. It ran all the way to the wall. In that spot, it was thinner and I could remove it with a hand scraper, preserving most of the stain on the floor. In the scrapped area I had to use a large long handled floor scraper and it still was a ton of work.

It's a mystery why the leveler was even there. I took a long straight edge over the floor and it was only down about 1/8 of an inch. No reason to use leveler as far as I can see. This floor was carpeted when I moved in, and since have removed the carpeting. There are a few gouges in the wood, but if it's carpeted, who cares. Still no reason to use leveler.

I'll eventually have these floors sanded and re-stained. For now, the large area rug I'm buying will cover the worst of it.

If there are any hardwood floor restorers in the Kansas City area reading this, send me me a Private Message. (Click on CatBrat name above my avatar, then on Send a PM) This area is 286 sq ft in an L shape. There are also 3 bedrooms with HW floors, but I'm not concerned about restoring them, at the moment.

It looks like I'll have enough money left over, after furniture and rug to buy a pair of black QS8's from the Factory Outlet. Was going to get real wood, etc, but that cost's $300-400 more. Since I'll have the moola for these, I think I'll go with them. ||wagging tail|| When is that loan check going to arrive?

They will be positioned more as wides than surrounds. Hopefully, it'll give a wider sound stage, and not something that doesn't sound quite right.

Maybe I can experiment and try them as wides, without having any surrounds, if the Denon 3312ci allows that configuration. I know it allows wides.

I have a pair of on wall M22's left over. Maybe I can install them as surrounds somehow. Like mount to the wood beams in the ceiling where one is much higher than the other one. Or on the back wall flipped 90% to mount above the window there. (Would have to invent a new mounting system with straps, maybe.)

When I click on the VIEWS column in WaterCooler (to sort threads by # of views in descending order), my CatBrat thread comes up on the 3rd page. Not bad for number of views. Currently 53,018.

Too bad it's not like Face Book and pays me a fee to run ads in it.

I wonder what ever happened to the "Eating Spiders" thread.

You are far and away the top poster in this thread.

So, the high number of views the thread gets are akin to the high number of views a person gets when talking to themselves in public.

Well, at least I don't have a good excuse like those people with the ear pieces for their phones.
