I'll keep watching Sherlock if they keep making it.
The Lego Movie was really good. I mean, nothing profound story-wise, but there were plenty of inspired touches for what it was, and the visuals were inventive and fun. It'll be fun at home, too. And yes, I went to see it with four of my adult friends and no kids.
I'm trying out Bates Motel even though I've never seen Psycho. It's all right so far, but I'm not seeing why several people I know are in love with it. I'll keep watching, though, since I know a lot of shows are a slow burn.

I had read an article that indicated the Sherlock series will continue on through season 5, but season 4 will not be out for at least two years. I suspect that with the two main characters getting to be so famous and in high demand, BBC will not be able to afford them... Season II of the Vikings started... I really like this series. The first episode started out with a hell of a kick return. A friend of mine (who shares a similar taste for scary movies as I do) came over last night to watch The Conjuring. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it was done. I definite thumbs up for those who like scary movies that are not just stupid and gimmicky with lots of blood and gore. Oh, and if you like British humor, BBC's Mrs Brown's Boys is hilarious. Watch this clip for a good example....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqIEZCRjR_AA buddy of mine threw a rib out laughing at some of the Youtube clips I showed him of this series.

Thor (Blu Ray) - the latest one. OK comic book escapism with some good room shaking...

I watched Thor Dark World yesterday as well. A lot of couch time this weekend as I was down with a horrid cold. I agree, really well done if you like Marvel comics or just like fantasy & sci-fi mash ups. Definitely lots of room shaking. A LOT !
I also tried catching up on Sherlock but I found cold meds are not conducive to watching Sherlock. You need a clear head for that show.
Instead, I kept on the BBC theme and started into season 2 of Luthor. It's not brilliant but it keeps my interest. Funny, I didn't realize Idris Alba also played Heimdall in Thor until I watched #2.
Mrs. Brown's Boys is indeed HILARIOUS! Some times so much so that the actors can't keep a straight face. Although I think they might be playing that up a bit for the camera now. Though to be fair, I know I would have trouble keeping a straight face.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

GI Joe - Retaliation: Another silly 'action' flic that was mostly enjoyable. This one is filled with unrelenting LFE plus way more surround content than is the norm. Again more ordnance expended than WW2. This one really gives your HT a workout. Decent review here: http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/o...ray-review.htmlTAM

Besides going to Captain America: The Winter Soldier last Friday, which I really liked, I also went to The Grand Budapest Hotel last Saturday. I also really liked it. Wes Anderson was losing me for a little while, until he did Fantastic Mr. Fox and Moonrise Kingdom, both of which I really enjoyed. I'm glad he's still got his momentum, as this is another solid effort. It may have helped that I got to go with a really hot woman. I didn't have any other local friends who wanted to go see it, and it just kind of worked out.

Oh, and I've been watching some stand-up lately. Louis C.K. may always be at the top of my list, but I have other favorites, too. Dave Attell just put out his new special, Road Work, and it's great stuff if you like completely over-the-top horribleness. I'm liking this $5 per special thing they have going. I also picked up Patton Oswalt's new special, after I'd forgotten about it coming out. He doesn't disappoint. What started me paying attention again was Todd Barry's new special, The Crowd Work Tour. He did an entire tour with no prepared material, instead engaging with the audience to inform and sustain each performance. It's a great thing to watch, and well worth $5.

Have you seen/heard Hannibal Buress? His recent standup show on Comedy Central was pretty good.
Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica.
