I recently cracked open the first bottle of my homemade, oatmeal stout. The chocolate hints in it somehow made me think it made a good Christmas beer.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

Yes a good stout has that luscious filling flavor that hits home this time of year. Maybe with some roasted chestnuts!
Good suggestions on the GI Bourbon stouts. I will have to check those out.
Update: I understand that GI's holiday beer is now called "Sixth Day", no longer Christmas Goose. Have a sixer chilling at the moment.
I also picked up Anchor Steam Christmas 2013. It's a nice, piney flavor with some nice malt backbone. Very porter-ish, but not too heavy.

Yes! We had that one on draught with Jack at Fat Head's in Cleveland. It was super. I picked up a bottle of The Big Lebrewski from Seattle's Naked City Brewing. Looking forward to it. Billed as a “White Russian Imperial Stout”, this beer starts out as an Imperial Cream Stout made with healthy amounts of dark malts and a dose of Lactose. After primary fermentation, Big Lebrewski is racked onto Medium Toast French Oak and aged for several weeks. The resulting beer is rich and complex with notes of chocolate and coffee. It’s the beer for its time and place.

OK, this is for all you beer nuts. Meet the Brewnut, Cleveland's Only Craft Beer-Based Donut Founded just a couple of months ago, Brewnuts is the lovechild of two West-siders, Shelley Fasulko and John Pippin, who've combined their passions for craft brews and donuts into a one-of-a-kind treat: a beer-based donut. Baked fresh and to-order from their home kitchen in the Warehouse district and out of the Cleveland Culinary Launch Kitchen, Fasulko and Pippin use local ingredients to offer a seasonal menu that highlights the brews currently flowing in and around the city. Much like the breweries they feature, Brewnuts, too, has approximately six distinct flavors "on tap" at any one time, such as a Pumpkin Ale Donut with White Chocolate Cardamom Glaze, a Maple Bacon Bourbon Ale Donut, or a Hard Cider Apple Donut, Fasulko told Scene. Of the six current varieties, usually four are made with local beers— it's not uncommon to see Great Lakes and Elevator Brewing Co. or Fatheads and Buckeye Brewing Co. — on their menu. "The remaining two flavors are special 'visiting' beers that we're just jonesing to bake with," Fasulko said. Are you ready for the MAPLE BACON BOURBON ALE DONUT

Digging this back out of the depths... Last night I had a Blue Mountain Dark Hollow on tap for the second time. Amazingly good beer. You can really taste the bourbon notes. Here's the website: http://www.bluemountainbrewery.com/dark-hollow/
