I've no issues with the delay. I waited 3 years for Rift to become a real product (bought DK1 and DK2 along the way for my flight sim) and just placed the order for the commercial version - mostly - on faith.

I also ordered the battery for Air on faith. I've no doubt that Axiom will deliver because the company's reputation is dependent on it.

There is a guy called Milan in Croatia who's family owns a furniture store (they make them). He is an avid sim'er as well, and felt that there were no quality rudders available for the sim market. He created one (Milan MFG Rudders) and he's shipped more than 1500 in two years. All at $350 or so per device. At first, people were leery about sending $350 to a guy in Croatia. But now his name is synonymous with quality. His thread on the game site alone generates revenue for him because of all the positive feedback.

Axiom, to me, is the same way. Quality products at great prices. If I didn't live in a condo, I would have ordered the amps a long time ago! smile

So Ian, take your time, get it right and let us sit back and enjoy the ride.

Although I'm disappointed it's this late, I have no worries about eventually getting it, or it being top quality. This is the only item I have ever pre-purchased on Kickstarter, and Axiom's (and Ian's) reputation was the reason I pre-purchased with absolutely no worries.

I'm cool with it. Joyce has forgotten about it, so when I want to buy a new tool or something, she doesn't say "didn't you just buy that Axiom thing" or "You just got that Axiom thing that came in last week". Bonus tool stuff!

Seriously, I'm not sweating it. I've had times when, despite pulling all-nighters, I've gotten backed up on some deadlines and missed them. And I've had (luckily, only) a few that went nuts unnecessarily, and some that were understanding. I'd like to be.... and am.... one of the understanding ones. And it really IS hard to stay in constant touch with the client, to only have disappointing news day after day. Especially when you honestly keep thinking you'll have that "breakthrough" in just a couple of days and be able to update the client with the good news instead.

I trust Ian and the crew that they want to get this done as soon as possible, without compromising the product, as much as some of us want to receive it.

I don't get annoyed if a waitress has kept us waiting if she's running around like crazy.

And I don't believe delivery dates have been extended because Ian is "just out back having a smoke".

Know what I'm looking forward to most? Not the receiving of the actual AxiomAir, but the new life that it will breathe into the forums here as we learn and discuss it.

I broke my Axioms in for 100 hours, but they're still bright.

I hear the version 3 is a bit more muted in the highs.
