What will the advantage of an air pre-amp be compared to a Chromecast? Hi Mojo, Functionally the Chromecast Audio is able to perform a number of the same functions as AxiomAir, but there are a number of limitations: Chromecast Audio has no ability to play locally stored music files (USB stick, etc.). Chromecast Audio needs an existing WiFi network to function. There is no hot-spot capability which AxiomAir has. Chromecast Audio playback is limited to 24/96, and I have been reading of some issues with it not being bit perfect (i.e. re-sampling data for playback). Thanks, Andrew

What will the advantage of an air pre-amp be compared to a Chromecast? Hasn't Paradigm done the same thing with their wireless speaker system? It looked like it to me, but then again, you may be talking about something totally different.

Hi MP3Mike,
The next products after the AxiomAir N3 is complete will be versions of our computer speakers with the AxiomAir built in... Well now, that sounds interesting. I'm using a cheap 8 year old 'portable' system now for my computer speakers. Its due to die at some point soon, so I'll need a replacement.

I cannot wait for this product to be released. It will be a game changer, and I can't wait for everyone to experience it.

The next products after the AxiomAir N3 is complete will be versions of our computer speakers with the AxiomAir built in and the AxiomAir pre-amps. If you are upgrading the Computer Speakers, will there be an path for those of us who own the computer speakers to get the Raspberry Pi interface installed? This might change my mind of keeping or trading in the computer speakers that I bought from Axiom last year. Can you give us a bit more insight as to what is planned?

Hi Matt,
We see these as two different products. The computer speakers with the AxiomAir built in would be better categorized as our bookshelf speakers with the AxiomAir and amp built in as they do not need to be near the source. You will certainly be able to do a Trade-up if you wanted to go in this direction.

No problem. But the idea was great with the WAF. I wanted some music in the front room of my house but my wife didn't like the large speakers and associated cords linked up to a stereo that she feels is ugly. (I know, there is no accounting for some peoples tastes).
I have the M3 computer speakers that you sold last year, and your idea of linking it with an Raspberry Pi was genius. The Pi is so small it can easily be hidden behind the speakers. Next to no cords as they can all be hidden in the bookshelf. Hooked up the speakers to a Pi that I own via a short USB cable and presto. I have music in the front room without the size. Now I know I don't have the great software app on my Pi like you have on the Air, but it works well enough.
Thanks again for your innovative thinking.

I sure hope that the AxiomAir gets into production soon. In my travels I read a variety of magazines, and I see more and more products out there in that market.
Heck, I saw an ad for Paradigm's Premium Wireless series including their PW800. Has a LOT of similarities to the AxiomAir. Same bitrate capabilities, wireless, dual woofer/dual tweeter config (Axiom's are larger woofers), 230W RMS for Paradigm vs. 150W RMS for Axiom, a bunch of app support, streaming from devices, ARC (room correction) with the Paradigm, etc. Both selling for $799...

I love the ARC. I love the sub out (good call Axiom).
I don't like the fact it can't be battery-powered. That one right there is a deal-killer for me.
No mention of where compression takes place. We've been promised 115dB with the Air.
