It's certainly alright to be ignorant about chinooks; however, you don't jet around the world (in your private aircraft) telling everyone from his large pulpit that this normal phenomena is being caused by Global Warming/Climate Change or whatever they are calling it these days.
Just more touchy-feely BS from that crowd & they need to be called on it...

Help I've gotten into The Criterion Collection. last 2 weeks a few. Good old David Cronenberg, Videodrome, Naked Lunch, Scanners. Had forgotten how intriguing his early work was.
Happy watching.

I finally watched Ex Machina the other day. It was a solid sci-fi movie, really well-executed. While admittedly small-scale in scope, the polish on what's present stands out. I will certainly watch it again.
Also saw Deadpool today. Not being very familiar with the character, and not generally impressed with Ryan Reynolds (even less with TJ Miller), I didn't go in with high expectations. It was a lot of fun. Deadpool is my friend's favorite comic book character, so she'd been looking forward to it for a while. She dreaded the possibility they might mess it up, but she was very happy with how it turned out.
I keep seeing people comment on Facebook on seeing small children at their showings, and it was the same deal with ours. Even with the nudity/sex and gratuitous violence, there were no visible attempts to shield eyes, no walk-outs. I'm not sure what this means, but be sufficiently warned about the content of the movie.

I will certainly watch it again... Excellent scifi movie! Most of what passes for scifi in Hollywood lives on the margins: more space cowboy action adventure than scifi. What nailed it for me was the ending. Rather than wrapping things up giving us all the answers and a feel good message, the Ex-Machina leaves us wondering. That is the nature of a good scifi story.

Anyone watching Vinyl on HBO? I'm not in love with the show yet, but I'm liking the 1970's, NYC music scene "vibe".

The CBC (radio) mentioned the show recently. If memory serves me correctly they stated they have a million dollar per episode budget for music.....
Edit..."With a six-figure music budget per episode, each edition features up to 30 songs".
Oops Lol

Love on Netflix. It's not like there's nothing to enjoy in it, but it's one of those ones where you're too annoyed at the characters for too much of the time, and the "realistic" glimpses of humanity just make you roll your eyes.
The Civil War. I thought I had better finally watch it, but after starting, I quickly realized I had, in fact, been shown the series back in junior high. But I'd forgotten most of it, so I went through it again. You have to laugh at the current state of politics when you look back at what we've already been through as a nation. All of the blood and tears, and the current system is how we honor that? Pretty sad.
