Airplay and Axiom Air interface. Both work like a charm.

Thanks Eric, I think I got what happened. And also the DSF issue... I think you just got the Pi stuck in reboot situation... After an update or factory reset you should always reboot. If the pi fails to reboot (sometimes it happens) the power button should be held off to shut down the device manually.
The DSF is a setting in MPD that got lost in the latest update, I'll fix that now ...

Thanks Michelangelo. I did reboot after the first upgrade. My guess is something went wrong during file copying and the version got inconsistent binaries. At least we now all know that recovery mechanisms do work.

@Mojo - Yes, I mainly use Apple devices (my iPhone 6 Plus, and my wife uses her iPhone 5). She uses the AA interface all the time, I use it 1/2 the time (the other half of the time I use Airplay). I also use the AA interface on my PC.

When the upgrade completed, the dialog asking for reboot appeared, but it seemed to have lost communication with the AA already. A little like you it crashed right after the UI popped up the message. A little while later, the AA played its little tune. It just felt a little strange, but not outright wrong.

Michelangelo, after upgrading to 1.029 (the latest version), I switched to the analog input. I did not have a source plugged into it. When I did so, I heard the switching relay operate and then the start-up tune played. I was very surprised by this; it must have re-booted. I was not able to repeat this.
