One of my more recent Axiom orders got held up. I had to call the guy at FedEx back, and he wanted information on what the speakers were made of, or he said he could contact the shipper. Just to be safe and have them get all of the correct information, I said, yeah, contact Axiom. Between the slight phone tag and subsequent following up with Axiom, it took a few days to get it moving again. But yeah, I think my Axiom orders have only been held up in customs like twice out of all of the orders I've put in, so I would guess documentation being ripped off the box like bridgman.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I guess my experience will probably be similar to what rrlev experienced given the number of days that have already passed. We will see. Fingers crossed.
It has been 3+ months since lightning took out my jbl studios and martin logans. So with no speakers, amps, etc.. it has been a really frustrating wait!

That is terrible to hear. Both the stroke and the fact you don't have them yet. frown

Actually it did come in sooner than expected! Packages were delivered over a couple of days. But all arrived safe and sound. Awesome packing! I got busy @ work and other stuff going on in this part of the world, so was not able to post here!
Have not yet had time to do much listening and / or tweaking. But from what i have heard so far man! the 1100 actives sound amazing. I was worried going out on a limb and making this purchase but my initial impression is that it is definitely worth it. Easily as good or even better than my previous Martin Logan Summits! I am still trying to get the lfr180 center setup right. Same with the EP 800s which i have currently placed alongside the actives. Will have to play around with placement in the coming days. Hopefully over the weekend.
I am still figuring out how to handle all the packing material. There is a ton of them smile smile

Whew! Good stuff, Raj.

I can tell you placing the 800s beside the actives is not the best for the actives to do their acoustical disappearing act.

I think you forgot to mention your LFR180 is active. That will pique some interest around here. smile

Yes, Ian did build a custom LFR180!!!! It sounds amazing. Having watched a couple of action and war movies a few things i have noticed so far. I am not sure about the right words or technical language to describe it but there is a real 3D soundstage effect here. Scenes where the actors are in a line and the front guy talks to someone way behind and he responds, you can actually feel that depth. We are currently sitting along the longer wall and so the outer seating positions are approximately 30 degrees from the center. But the sound level, clarity, and depth is still there @ those listening positions.
I have not heard other axiom centers, so maybe it is not something unique to the 180. But first, second and third impressions - this 180 is special smile
Same goes with blu ray concerts - (dave matthews, celine dion, queen, etc) with 5.1 surround. The way the center blends in with the 1100s is superb.
While i am sure the quality of recording definitely played a role in those scenes, i was more than happy with its performance on an ordinary mono track in the move Stray Dog (Akira Kurosowa movie)
Maybe it is my initial excitement with the Axioms, we will see.

Raj, this is really excellent feedback. I cannot say I have experienced that 3D effect with my 160 center. I haven't read from anyone else they've experienced this kind of effect with their center.

FYI, if you need more subs, I have found the 600s that arrived earlier this week to go as deep as the 800. Of course if you have an unusually large room, maybe the 800s are better. As I reported in my other post, I am now using five sealed Axiom subs and it is Nirvana.

It's terrific that you are enjoying them. Kudos to Ian.

Yeah Mojo, i am reading through the other posts on the 600s. As tempting as the more subs proposition is, I think i will take a rain check on more subs at this time smile smile The 800s are giving me enough levitation at this point. It is just a couple of weeks since i got all this gear. And there is enough for me to experiment with and keep me engaged for a little while. And it is too early to convince wife and family to get more stuff and seek Nirvana! smile

That sounds like a practical plan. Active LFR180. Raj, you're the man! smile
