I can't say because I've never listened to it. However, based on the specs, it'll sound the same as the 125 except play a bit deeper. Since you're into movies, that might matter to you. Note it's the same amp power.

I'm going to trade up for an ep 125. Going to do so this weekend.
Would you guys say the ep 175 is worth the extra $200? I wonder what happened.

I ordered a 125. My wife wants to renovate our kitchen now so that money would be put to better use there. As much as I would have liked to get the 175, it just didn't make sense to do so right now.
