This is really interesting to know and ironic because i was JUST watching some final season episodes this week on the new LG myself as well! First i was watching some that i had on Bellsat PVR (allegedly 1080i and DD 5.1 sound but generally confirmed by the LG info and Onkyo mode). I saw so many banding and jaggies in the dark scenes that i thought hmm, i have Bell Crave with our subscription so i switched over to the Roku and pulled up GOT through that instead. Unfortunately i cannot know what the resolution was (though i'm guessing still 1080 as opposed to 720 and certainly not 4k) but still DD 5.1 sound. The banding and jaggies were reduced which tells me the coding using for recording on the older Bellsat PVR is partly to blame but they were still there and almost distracting in dark scenes (try watching the Long Night episode and bleeech, horrible especially on a 77" screen). I was very curious as to whether the 4k version would improve this. Please let me know if the final season in 4k eliminated the visual issues.

Well that takes the $200 sting out a bit. I got the new series but have only watched the popular scenes... like season 3's battle of black water, plan on rewatching them all again, pretty sure i've watched every episode 20-30 times. It's sad because i'm not exaggerating. Makes for great back ground entertainment while working. GOT is the GOAT... not to be confused with TB in TB who is the NFL's GOAT 4EVR. lol couldn't help myself.
Lots of speakers from many manufactures...mostly Axiom

There is no banding in the last season. We had that already in 4k and re-bought the 4k box set. The super dark episode looks very good.

I finally watched the Rurouni Kenshin live action movies last weekend, and I'm already re-watching them this weekend. The anime is one of the great classics for me, so I'd be hard-pressed to recommend them over that, but I'm happy with how they treated the material, and over the course of the films there are so many truly great movie swordfighting moments. Certain aspects of the filmmaking don't quite have the polish, but the stuff they nailed makes them highly recommended.
I'm just a little disappointed in the physical releases. I bought the digital versions of the first three on Amazon just because it seems to be impossible to buy the first on Blu-ray without paying an arm and a leg. And it sounds like if I got a box set from Japan, they wouldn't have English subtitles. I'd rather have a 4K box set, anyway, so we'll see if that ever comes out.
The fourth film's release also annoys me, since I can only seem to watch it on Netflix, and Netflix won't seem to play in 24 Hz on the Xbox app, so it has the too-smooth look that pulls me right out of every movie. I will have to see if it looks better on the PC app, but I was having technical difficulties with that before, which is why I started using my Xbox for Netflix.
In any case, check them out if you're in the mood for good Japanese action movies with some amazing swordplay.

After chasing wailing coyotes out of my neighborhood last night, we couldn't sleep. We watched Green Book and couldn't get enough of Viggo Mortensen.

Captain Fantastic is a good one for Viggo fans. Great flick. Loved Greenbook too.

Thanks for that, Trevor. It gave me something to watch early in the morning while I was recovering from my second vaccine shot.
