I've been binging Squid Game, also on Netflix, since then. Good writing, good acting, and OMG is it shot well. They made a beautiful show. I'd say it's showcase material for a nice TV, and the audio is very satisfying as well. I haven't finished the show yet, so here's hoping the ending is not a fumble. I'm really liking it in the meantime. I finished it tonight, and I'd say it's well worth the watch.

Liking Midnight Mass, also on Netflix. I didn't really know anything about it, but a coworker suggested it. Nice to see Saracen from Friday Night Lights again. It feels like it's always a surprise to find he's gotten work. Not that he shouldn't get it. He's simply been underutilized since that show ended.

Went to the theater to see Dune. Overall I liked it a lot, but I'm already not liking the wait for Part Two. I have HBO Max, but I wanted the first time to be in the theater. I'll watch it at home sometime this weekend, really work out my speakers.

Was hoping it wasn't going to be a piece of crap compared to the cult classic original. Some of the movie remakes are just so terrible.

I'm not sure if you'll like the vibe of the new one if you're a fan of the original, so you'll have to let me know what you think. And even though I like this new one, enough of the character moments and story emphasis is off compared to the novel that I'm not sure how much I'll revisit it compared to Denis Villeneuve's other movies I've really enjoyed. I guess I'll find out with subsequent viewings how much lasting value it has for me.

The first one was so quirky it could almost be a bit hard to follow the whole story. I would have to go back and re-read the novel all over again to remember much of it but i suspect that would only ruin what i might watch at the theatre.

Not saying that exactly. It's actually pretty faithful to the novel, more than the David Lynch movie, but they do fill out the action scenes, which Frank Herbert would gloss over in his writing. I'll stop talking and just let people watch it.

Really liked The Peanut Butter Falcon on Netflix. A little sappy and Corny. But really enjoyable!
