I'm sure part of it is the people making the show liked the way she acted elsewhere, so they asked her to do more of the same. How is the 4K treating you? Remind me, what are you using as your streaming device? The 4k is very nice. Can move the tv a bit closer by a foot and the picture is 'bigger' yet still looks stellar. The thing about the 4k though is that it all still comes down to how it was filmed, the channel, the post processing, etc. National Geographic shows are all eye popping but almost oversaturated in some colours like yellows and greens. The Marvel shows have been pretty 'typical' in colours without anything being eye popping, but realistic. A movie say 5 years old almost looks a bit drab. Anything in HDR takes on a life of its own but the LG settings are all different for HDR vs non so that is to be expected (i did turn down the OLED brightness and what not a bit). Now and again you almost can't tell if the picture is moving in and out of 4k just because of the camera focus depth but the sharpness is amazing screen wide on wide angle shots. I am using a Roku stick for streaming. Everything has been very seamless. Very impressed. I am a little confused about the Atmos streaming though. I expect that since my Denon is setup as a 7.1 config that it would still put the mode into Atmos but knowing i don't have any heights or ceiling speakers. Speaking of Disney+, do they still have Free Solo on there? I ask because there's a good follow-up to that one on Netflix called The Alpinist. The subject of this one is Marc-André Leclerc, who Alex Honnold calls crazy. I'm only halfway through, but it also has me scratching my head why people like this exist. I'll have to check. Will do so tonight during our Christmas Eve family movie night! (staying in this year due to covid). I just finished watching the Hawkeye series last night. I almost hope they come up with a second story line and run another. It was pretty good.

Just got a DP-UB820 player for the media room. Been testing it out watching a Ultra 4k Disk of the Hobbit. Definitely a superior player to the family room’s Sony X700. Tomorrow we’ll do the last disk.

Just finished season 3 of Downton Abbey. I can't believe I'm watching this show, as it's really not something I'd normally watch, but I can't stop watching it...... This started with a friend of mine going on and on about how he got hooked, and he is totally not into drama or a stuffy English type of guy, so I watched the first episode to see why. Dammit!
We also just got the 4K disk for Season 3 of Star Trek Discovery. (I refuse to by the CBS steaming service, so I wait for the BR disk version of this series.) I enjoy this series very much, and the first episode of S3 has set a new standard. The special effects, video and sound are all exceptional. Hard to believe it is a TV series. Hopefully, the remaining episodes will be equally good.

Just finished season 3 of Downton Abbey. I enjoyed the first season. I don't remember if I started the second, but I didn't stick with it. I think I just got distracted by other things. I watched Pig yesterday. I would agree it's good for a Nicolas Cage movie, but it didn't really live up to the hype for me. Also watched The Last Duel. Not bad, but also not great. Started Archive 81 on Netflix. It had some tension at the beginning, but it's already losing me. Not sure how much further I'll go with it.

Finally watched my 4K Blu-ray of Snatch. It looks and sounds a lot better than I was expecting from a catalog title. And I still love the movie, thankfully. It holds up.
