It is a great deal for sure. But it’s not gonna happen right now. Gonna have to wait, even at those prices. Very tempting though.
I’m needing a DAC for my desktop system. I can get by with one turn table and one CD player but each system needs its own DAc and steam capabilities as it’s a quick hit to play some tunes when the right amount of time comes up. Plus I love hitting shuffle and random and just seeing what comes up.
If I’m playing a record or a cd I tend to settle in and listen to the whole album or am being more “critical”.
So the m5s will have to wait. For now….

Also, that’s a paramount JC amp. Not a cheapy. Might be a THX preamp sitting on top hard to tell.
That’s an interesting setup. I’d like to try that one day. M5s matched with ep500 or 600.
Just hooked up an old passive paradigm sub to my desktop system with m2s. I wonder how it will sound.
I’m listening to Chris Botti and friends. Particularly like the cut with Sting. It’s a cd/dvd set. Makes me want to have 5.1 or better system for concert watching.
Chris Botti is highly recommended overall as is this concert. Really good stuff and great variety of artists.

The Paradigm sub is passive, really? It doesn't have its own amp?

Correct. I have 2 subs. One is powered 12 inch Velodyne which is setup with the m60ti.
And I just got this passive one for free, si figured I’d try it in a nearfield setup where it being passive doesn’t matter so much as I won’t need a ton of power to make it work. It’s an old sub. But free!

Ooops. Made an error quoting the amp in the photo. It’s Parasound Halo maybe? Anyway I digress…

My homies and I are snacking on KFC while binging on The Last Ship on Prime. So good! Rhona Mitra is mighty fine.

Ha Ha Ha!! Yeah I guess i've learned a thing or two along the way. It remains a great journey! I love everything about this great hobby. Still lots to learn and lots of differnet things to try out and play with. The new house has really opened the options to try different setups with different spaces and gear.
I've got the passive sub running with the M2s here at my desk.....it does the job. I've got the m2s high passed through the sub, its a fixed crossever at 200 hz I believe. ( Can't recall where I got that info but it seems plausable but i cant confirm ti online anywhere other than the fact that ii does contain a high pass filter.) The only thing not managed is the output and sensitivity of the sub vs speakers. But if turn the Pure Direct off I can bump up the bass a bit and they match closer / better. With the pure direct on at high volume id say it's better. Anyway, i, over analyzing it all. It sounds good and im really only boosting the 200-350 hz a few db on the m2s as thats the high end of the Yammies bass turnover frquency.
Fun stuff!
