Hi everyone,
I had a flood earlier this year which ruined my m80s and one of my QS8's (v2). I don't want more than a 5.1 setup in my space, and wondered if I could pair a v2 QS8 with a new v4 or if that wouldn't work well. If I have to I'll switch to 6.1, but it'd mean a ceiling mount which I'd want to avoid. Hoping I can just get the one speaker but don't want them to be mismatched. Thanks,
-A

Is your insurance covering the costs? Check out the Refurb and B Stock stores on the Axiom site for prices that might make you rethink your direction.
You might consider trading the single V2 in on a pair of V4's. As for mixing them, there were changes/improvements made over the version updates that could make this a difficult to listen to pairing.

It’s my understanding that there is a big difference between V2 and V4. But that said … it’s an ambient surround and maybe you could get away with it.
If it was me, and if the $$ didn’t kill me, I’d highly recommend getting a pair of QS10s … I’m very happy with them in my family room (18’x18’x9’). The setup M2/VP150/EP500 & QS10s setup in half the room … other half is for ping-pong

I agree with the previous posts.
I'll just add that even though the QS10s are in a totally different class compared with my QS8v2, I find the M5 on-wall is more versatile if you also listen to music in surround.

if this is mainly a video setup, I’d consider on-walls in case you had a repeat flood.

Thanks, I'll be listening to music in stereo, so this'll be for movies/TV/gaming - looks like I can try the trade-up program with my existing speaker for the QS-10's as the best option. Thanks everyone for your input

Get two different finishes...like me. They're similarly good.

Those are to hold speaker stuffing for absorption. These are for diffusion.
