KLH … I remember those guys … guess the name is still around. Yes, the surrounds look amazingly like the QS8’s … the outriggers look funny on a shorter squatter speaker … but they do look reminiscent of axiom’s

Kloss back in the 80’s setup Cambridge Audio about a mile from where I lived at the time

They look like BrAxioms because they are. laugh

It appears the new KLH owner, who was with Klipsch for 25+ years, is maintaining and even expanding the heritage line but has decided to partner with Ian for the more modern line. The heritage line maintains Kloss's acoustic suspension while the modern is bass reflex.

Apparently there's a lot of demand for the heritage as nostalgia sets in for well-off boomers and gen-xers.

Think on the bright side. Maybe one of them will finally get reviewed and measured by ASR or EAC. smile

Maybe KLH ought to update Axiom's website as a fair exchange, it feels two decades newer.

The original Kendalls which were made in China (but of course designed in the USA), measured terribly but listeners loved them.

I like the appearance of the Kendalls. The English walnut with black drivers is classic.

Axiom M3 and M60 customers can rest assured their speakers sound better than the Kendalls given the anti-standing wave cabinets and vortex ports. And we have the QS10s. Woo hoo!

I'm curious about the economics of manufacturing in Canada. I'm old enough to remember when Leica and Ernest Leitz optics were manufactured in Ontario, and they bragged about it.

I've heard much about China no longer being the lowest cost manufacturing hub of the world, and how it's only still relevant because of the legacy sunk costs of a built out supply chain. I wouldn't mind hearing some audio industry insiders talk about what's changed since the pandemic.

I was trying to figure out what I liked about the KLH website, besides the fonts, layout, and abundance of photos. That's probably it in a nutshell. But I really like every SKU having it's own PDF data sheet that's both a spec sheet and sales document.

Labor is more expensive in Canada (for now) but that's offset by lower tarrifs, fewer supply chain logistics, higher quality and higher productivity. The pandemic showed manufacturers just how sensitive global supply chains were to shock and that's led to more on-shoring.

I like the Axiom site. It's very utilitarian.
