You can try turning the volume down too.

Make sure the shorting bar on the speaker terminals is tight.

If the M80s work with just the NAD - and I assume they do because that's what you were running prior to the Outlaw - then it means the Outlaw is hosed when it has to deal with the M80s.

Outlaws and M80's have a long successful history together, don't they?
Anyway, it will be a week or two before I can test your theory as I already switched the two pairs of speakers and so it will take some negotiating to get my wife to help again

I just checked the 5000 specs. It shouldn't have any problem whatsoever driving the M80s...unless Outlaw delivered you a lemon amp.
