Hey, good idea, Mark! What was that thing Ray likes again?

rook, I think you're going to enjoy that system very much. Congrats, and please report back with your ongoing adventures and impressions.

Well, I drool alot anyhow and I'm wearing Depends, so I can't tell if I'm excited.

rook - you are a madman! No such thing as half wet here. I salute your wife - doesn't look like you will need to sell her.

Now - down to business. As the guys have mentioned, you will need to consider a universal remote. Do a quick search here on "MX-700". Coupl of major threads over the last 4 months or so. Kililler remote, perfect for what you have there.

Me, Ajax, tomtuttle, curtis, MarkSJohnson (and a herd of otheres) have this thing and would be happy to help you with it.

Pictures are required.

You and your MX-700. Did you knit yours little PJ's so that you can snuggle with it when you go to bed at night?

HEY - are you looking through my bedroom window???

Guess what else? I just took delivery on some X10 lighting equipment last night. I had already set up the MX-700 with the codes. Plugged it all in last night and it worked. With the MX-700. Great stuff.

Rook,

You are about to be added to the MX-700 collective. Resistance is futile. Do not attempt to escape. Just go ahead and order it. And congrats on a fine purchase!

Well Rook, considering what you just spent on your home theater, why settle for the MX-700? You need a Pronto. Except for that fact that it eats batteries like crazy (get rechargeables), it rocks!

OK, so I'm not the most handy guy. Is it THAT difficult to put this whole thing together and make it hum? The speaker wire is already dropped, but mounting the projector and running the necessary cables (I'll be asking about that when the goods arrive) will be a bit more challenging.

Should I bite the bullet and pay a professional? Or should I consult my somewhat knowledgeable bro-in-law and try it ourselves...maybe save $1K.

Do it yourself. I was in the same boat awile ago and by doing it myself I learned a lot. Plus if you ever upgrade or have to move the set up you will know what to do.

The only thing I may do is have someone put the screen and projector in. Would not be fun running the wiring for that. Speakers and the denon will be cake.
