James I have my center in an almost identical location as yours, it gets a pretty good workout going from just over the edge of the table top to back in it's 'stored' location. I'm using a cloth placed under the center to keep it from getting scratched.

You might have to angle it down a little towards listener. I got better dispersion that way.

Very nice set up.
In the pic of the busted box it looks like there's a ding in the speaker. Is that so or just a reflection/flash?
With so many people getting bashed up boxes I think when the time comes I'll do the 2.5 hour drive and pick them up!

Ya I know the VP100 is set back to far. Basically when I watch a movie or something worth surround I pull the center up to the edge.
Psst... might want to flip it upside down, too, so it's not pointed up into the back corner of the room! The anti-standing wave shape of the enclosure also give you two angles to face it up by (and some hockey pucks under the back of it would aim it down towards the listening position!).

There's no damage or marks on the speaker itself from the busted box. There was a slight tack mark on the plastic bag but it didn't make it to the speaker.

Unless of course you're from way down here in the south where we wouldn't know the difference between a hockey puck and a parka. A couple 'a two or three Skoal Long-Cut cans would probably work just as well.

If he turned it upside down it would angle it eaven higher.
Angled door stops under it work great.
BTW: Congrats! and great looking setup.

I actually have mine flipped upside down on top of the TV, so it fires upwards at an angle. It seems to work better than straight on, and that way it doesn't look like it's going to attack me like a pair of WATT Puppies (ie, if I had it propped up to point at the listening position.)
