Solved your 100Hz and 200Hz holes by slamming the M5 against the wall?

Looks great. Throw some knives on the wall to make it more cozy.

A running commentary would be welcome about the acoustic treatments you used. My knowledge of the subject is about as sophisticated as adding carpeting and drapes and calling it a day.

I'm curious about the switch from radiant baseboard heating to what appears to be forced air heating. Normally it's an expensive endeavor to switch heat sources or hire someone to plumb ductwork and rebalance the home's HVAC. It looks like the before picture already has existing ceiling ductwork? But it's missing during the reno pic.

Hi I ended up removing the baseboard heating. It was oil fire hotwater. and with a $5000 chimney replacement and oil at $2 L I installed three heat pumps. Actually, that room was a big L shape dog leg. the one looking at the vents and side rad is now a bedroom. And a wall built across. so the long part is the one looking at the ceiling down, which became the media room. It is not big 11.5 x 15.5 .
I actually got some panels from the theatre here that was upgraded a few years back and built the frames. fabric I got and re did the panels. then color matched the paint as accent on wall. I then in back of the frames and panel added the foam sound absorb tiles 12x12x2" and filled it in . added diffusers on ceiling back from about the 8.5' to about 1.5' off the back wall.

A heat pump totally makes sense in your Atlantic climate. I ran the numbers in central Alberta; half of my natural gas bill is for corridor right of ways and admin charges, and I still couldn't justify switching to a CCASHP and air handler with my minuscule 18,000-24,000 BTU/hr heat loss at -35ºC.

I missed the days when I lived in a condo with baseboard radiant heating. There's no wild temperature swings and cold spots that comes with forced air heating. Modulating gas furnaces would give me the comfort I want...but they don't make one small enough, and they're outrageously expensive compared to a dual stage model!

When we wanted heat, we huddled around our open oven.
