Hello, I have a set of AudioByte desktop computer speakers from many many years ago. https://www.axiomaudio.com/blog/audiobyte-computer-speakers-reviewsOver time the volume knob on the amp unit has developed static when it's used. What's the best way to solve this? Deoxit? Replace the rheostat completely? Thanks in advance.

Google “ how to clean a volume control” … if there is no access into the pot I’ve drilled into them before to get access.
Never used “Detoxit” so don’t know if it’s worth the money … only have used what ever cheap contact cleaner I’ve had on hand …
