Hi Team,
I’m looking for advice on speakers for height channels.
I’m currently running, 7.1: M80’s v2 VP-150v2 QS-8 QS-4 EP-500
I’m looking to add speakers for Atmos & Auro-3D.
1) 2 x M3 bookshelf - wall mounted as front heights 2) 2 x M3 On-wall speaker - ceiling mounted as rear heights 3) M3 in-ceiling as Top surround.
Please advise, if this set up will sound ok.
Thank you.
Regards, Don from Singapore

Your setup sounds solid! M3 bookshelf speakers for front heights, M3 on-wall for rear heights (angled if possible), and M3 in-ceiling for top surrounds should provide great height effects for both Atmos and Auro-3D. Enjoy the immersive experience!

It was hard for me to let my Qs8s go back in the day. But once I went to full Atmos in the ceiling M3s I swapped out my 4 Qs8s for M22 on walls....

I threw my QS8v2 in the trash and then remembered I could upgrade. So my side surrounds are now QS10s with M5OW underneath and an EP500 to boot.

Think u mentioned this before mojo but in different combo’s … and I’m not sure if I’m mixing it up with some other setup … here’s what my current guess is … 4.? Setup (virtual center), M50/ep800 mains and QS10/M5ow/EP500 for each surround
For some reason I had you down as having two systems … one in the basement which I thought was where the actives were and one on the bay window wall where you entertain the neighbors (which I thought was M2 based)… is there a third room?

it’s been a year since asiatic posted … but that said … I’m kind of thinking of abandoning my height (at least for a little while)
I think I may benefit moving from a 7.4.6 to a 9.4.4 setup … going from front/back heights and mid tops to fwd/rear tops and use the freed channels for wides. I’m hoping to get better vertical separation … I suspect that height info gets lost if the vertical angle is too close to the bed angle.

I have 9 systems not counting the ones at friends' places because I needed more rooms.
The one I was referring to was the ALFR system. I have two VP160s but not for centre. The centre is virtual courtesy of ALFR holography. The VP160s are serving as rears each with their own 500v4.

So 6.? ALfR fronts with 800s(?), qs10/m5ow/500 sides, and vp160/500 rears

Yes, except ALFR with dual 600s. The 800 is dedicated to the .1 (LFE) channel.
