Bingo. I just came to this same realization about a week ago. I had been | |<-- this close to buying a PS3 a few months ago when I learned that they had SACD support. \:\) But thought I'd wait until Christmas and make it a gift to myself & family. In gearing up to buy one, I double-checked the specs on the 'newer' models. Nope, No SACD support any more. Phooey!
